Man shot in East Side doorway

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Police are looking for clues in the death of a man gunned down when he answered the door of an East Side home Friday night.

Detectives say Charles King was inside the home at 366 Kelton Avenue just after 9:00 p.m. when he answered the door. A fight began and King, 31, was shot several times.

Investigators say he stumbled into the street and collapsed in the middle of Kelton Avenue at the intersection with E. Main Street where officers responding to the shooting report found him.

He was pronounced dead at the scene, the 16th murder victim of 2014, according to police.
