COLUMBUS – Columbus police say a man was shot to death during an argument with a boyfriend of his fiancee’s daughter Wednesday afternoon on the Southeast Side.

Zhontel Angel was charged with murder in the shooting death of James Lundy outside Angel’s home on Smith Road, near Millbrook Park, Homicide Unit Sgt. Stanley Latta said.
Latta says officers responding to a report of a shooting in the 1600 block of Smith Road at 3:20 p.m. found Lundy, 31, who was pronounced dead at 3:32 p.m. by Columbus Division of Fire medics.
Investigators say Lundy and Angel, 22, were fighting over a woman who is the mother of Angel’s child and the daughter of Lundy’s fiancee when Lundy got a firearm from his home and fired multiple shots, hitting Angel, who fell in front of 1694 Smith Road.
This is the 76th homicide of 2017 in Columbus.
