COLUMBUS – An East Side man has been charged with murder after an argument turned deadly inside his home Thursday night.
Columbus police say Anthony Shanks and Bernard Pettaway were arguing inside Shanks’ home in the 800 block of E. 13th Avenue at approximately 9:19 p.m. when Shanks, 45, pulled a handgun and shot Pettaway.
Pettaway, 50, died later at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and Shanks was arrested, said Sgt. Jeffrey Strayer of the Homicide Unit.
This is the 99th iomicide of 2019 in Columbus.
