COLUMBUS – Columbus police say an argument turned deadly inside a Northeast Side home Sunday.
Officers responding to a report of a shooting in a home in the 2100 block of Schenley Drive at approximately 6:38 p.m. found Rayvon Marquiese Ford inside the house, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound, Homicide Unit Sgt. Jeff Strayer said.
Columbus fire personnel transported Ford, 22, to Grant Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased at 7:29 p.m., Strayer said.
The preliminary investigation suggests that Ford was involved in an altercation with an unknown person just prior to the shooting, Strayer said.
The investigation continues.
This is the 11th Homicide in Columbus in 2019.
