COLUMBUS – A man who stabbed three people while trying to hold up a Northeast Side bank Tuesday morning is under arrest and the three victims are recovering from their injuries.
Columbus police say the 18-year-old man, who was identified only by the initials “D.N.,” jumped a counter at the PNC Bank at 1850 E. Dublin-Granville Road at approximately 11 a.m. and stabbed the 30-year-old teller in the stomach arm and a 34-year-old man who came to help in the arm and the chest.
As “D.N.” ran from the bank, he knocked down a 66-year-old customer, demanded the man give him his money and swung a knife at him. The victim put his arm up to block the knife and was cut on the hand, police said.
The suspect was identified by a witness and arrested a short time later.
He confessed to the assaults during questioning and admitted that he intended to rob the bank, police said.
