Man’s body found in South Linden

COLUMBUS – Police are treating the death of a man whose body was found in South Linden Thursday morning as a homicide.

Columbus police officers and fire personnel summoned to the area of 1528 E. 26th Avenue at 8:39 a.m. on a report of an unidentified male lying on the ground and possibly not breathing found the man in the rear of the home at 1524 E. 26th Avenue, said Homicide Unit Sgt. Dave Sicilian.

The man, described as being in his 30’s, was not breathing, was unresponsive and Siciliian says “it was apparent he was the victim of a homicide.”

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene and his identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, Sicilian said.

No other information is available. The investigation continues.

This is the 23rd homicide in Columbus in 2018.
