Downtown streets began closing Thursday ahead of the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Columbus Marathon and ½ Marathon:
Thursday
7 pm: south lane of Spring St., between Neil and Hanover, closes
Friday
9 am: Long St. closes from Hocking St. and Marconi Blvd. Re-opens from Hocking St. to Neil Ave. (including one turn lane) for inbound Columbus Blue Jackets home opener traffic; re-closes at 7 pm and remains closed until 6 pm Sunday
11:59 pm: Spring St. between West St. and Neil Ave. closes at 11:59 pm for the Kids’ Run Saturday and remains closed until 6 pm Sunday
Hanover and Cozzins Streets closed except to local traffic until 6 pm Sunday
West St. from Nationwide to Marconi and John McConnell from New Public Way to Spring St. closes and remains closed until Sunday at 6 pm
Saturday
11:59 pm: Spring St. closure extended from Neil Ave. to Hocking St. until 6 pm Sunday
Neil Ave. south from Nationwide Blvd. goes down to one lane for condo traffic only until 4
am Sunday.
Sunday
4 am-3pm: Neil Ave. south from Nationwide closes, except for access to New Public Way/garage
7:30 am: Starting at the start line on Long Street and for the marathon and half-marathon courses. Roads will be subject to partial or full closure based upon the expected arrival times of athletes
All roadways should re-open by 6 p.m. Sunday evening.
