COLUMBUS – A woman who died as a result of a murder-suicide in March has become the 115th homicide victim of 2022, according to police.
Officers responding to a report of a dead woman inside a home in the 1300 Block of E. 26th Avenue on March 30 found Cassandra Salters, 22, and Zhairon Scales, 24, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds, Sgt. Eric Piliya of the Columbus police Homicide Unit said.
After conferring with the Franklin County Coroner’s Office, investigators determined that Scales shot Salters to death and then took his own life, Pilya said.
