COLUMBUS – Governor John Kasich is asking lawmakers for permission for him to deliver his annual State of the State address in Marietta next month.
Kasich sent a letter to the leaders of the Ohio General Assembly requesting a joint session in Marietta at on April 6, 2016 at the Peoples Bank Theatre.

This is the fifth year in a row that Kasich has asked to hold State of the State outside of the Ohio Statehouse and, since the state Constitution requires him to deliver the message to a joint session of the legislature, he must get their permission to change the location.
Previous address have been delivered in Steubenville, Lima, Medina and Wilmington.
