COLUMBUS, Ohio – Columbus police are asking for help finding a 14-month-old boy from Maryland abandoned by his mother on the Southeast Side the day after Christmas.
Police say Cameron Beckford from Frederick, Md., was visiting in Columbus with his mother and sister when his father reported him missing after being told by the mother that she could not care for Cameron.
The mother told the father that she left the boy on a stranger’s front porch in a housing development near Brice Rd/Livingston Ave around 8:00 Friday night.
Police say they were already investigating an incident involving the mother’s six-year-old daughter when Cameron was reported missing.
The mother has been arrested.
Police say Cameron weighs 23 pounds, has a Mohawk hair style and was last seen wearing a gray elephant hat, a blue and white long sleeve shirt with stripes, grey pants, black puffy coat with a red interior and black and red Spiderman boots.
