Mass. man jailed in Ohio after crime spree

WAVERLY (AP) – Police say a man who allegedly stabbed his relative, raped a woman and then drove both victims from his home in Massachusetts to Ohio before he was captured by authorities is in jail in southern Ohio.

The suspect wasn’t immediately identified.

Boxborough, Mass., police say the man was jailed following a Sunday morning standoff in Ohio in which he managed to steal a Pike County Sheriff’s deputy car.

Messages to the Pike County sheriff’s office weren’t immediately returned Monday.

Boxborough police say the suspect stabbed a male relative at their Boxborough apartment Thursday and allegedly assaulted and raped a woman in the home. Police say the suspect forced both victims into a car and drove to Ohio.

Police say the stabbing victim is in serious condition. The rape victim’s condition wasn’t immediately known.

Police say the man is jailed in Pike County on theft and escape charges.
