COLUMBUS, Ohio – Love is in the air in Delaware, where Mayor Carolyn Riggle is presiding over a mass Valentine’s Day marriage ceremony.
Depending on the number of couples who are licensed and ready to say their “I do’s,” Riggle will perform the simple, civil ceremony either at City Hall or the YMCA, 1121 South Houk Road, at 3:30 p.m., city spokesman Lee Yoakum says.
Yoakum says couples renewing vows will not need a license.
In honor of the date – 2/14/2014 – the standard wedding fee will be reduced from $50 to $20.14 per couple, payable at the event. The money will go to the Mayor’s Fund, which is helping fund a Veterans’ Plaza, Yoakum said.
