COLUMBUS — Kyle Young scored the go-ahead basket with 63 seconds left and Ohio State held off Penn State 74-70.
Penn State’s Josh Reaves stole the ball from Andre Wesson in the backcourt and scored on a slam with 1:34 left for a 70-69 lead with 1:34 left but Young’s layup put the Buckeyes (15-7, 5-6) ahead for good.
Free throws by Wesson and C.J. Jackson sealed the win.
Luther Muhammad led Ohio State with 20 points while Jackson and Wesson added 15 apiece and Wesson pulled down 10 rebounds.
The Buckeyes have won three out of their last four since snapping a five-game losing streak.
