Mets 2, Clippers 0

COLUMBUS – Corey Oswalt shut down the Clippers to lead the Syracuse Mets to a 2-0 win Sunday at Huntington Park.

Oswalt (4-0) pitched six innings of one-hit ball, striking out eight Columbus hitters for the Mets, who won two of the three games in the series.

Adam Plutko (0-2) took the loss of the Clippers, who begin a six-game road trip at Pawtucket on Tuesday.

The Mets’ Tim Tebow, a former quarterback at Florida and with the Broncos and Jets in the NFL, went 3-for-9 in the series with a double and a run scored.
