COLUMBUS, Ohio – Three Michigan players scored in double figures as the Wolverines jumped out to a big halftime lead and held on to beat Ohio State 64-49 in women’s basketball at Value City Arena Sunday.

Siera Thompson led the way with 18 points and Shannon Smith and Nicole Emblad added 17 and 10 respectively as Michigan (10-4, 1-0) built a 25-13 lead at the break.

The Buckeyes (11-7, 1-1), who shot only 18 percent from the field in the first half, were led by Ameryst Alston’s 15 points. Martina Elllerbe added 10.
