Missing: 1 bridge. If seen, call Akron PD

AKRON – Police in Akron are asking for the public’s help locating the city’s missing bridge.

According to a report on WJW/FOX 8, the 58-foot-long pedestrian bridge was removed from Middlebury Run Park as part of a wetlands restoration project and moved to a field.

The city planned to repurpose the bridge, but last month police were notified that the bridge had been stolen.

Detectives say the theft of the bridge was done in phases starting November 3rd when the thieves cleared the brush and removed all of the deck boards.

In what’s most likely a unique announcement, the Akron police are asking for anyone that has any information about who stole their bridge to call them.
