Missing girl found safe

NORTH BLOOMFIELD (AP) – A two-year-old girl who disappeared Friday night from her great-grandparents’ house in northeast Ohio has been found alive in a nearby field.

Authorities found Rainn Peterson on Sunday evening not far from where she had been reported missing. The area is near the community of North Bloomfield, just north of Warren and Youngstown near the Pennsylvania state line.

Rainn is being taken to a hospital for evaluation.

Authorities had concentrated their search around the home in rural northeastern Ohio, going through wooded areas, backyards and drainage pipes.

Trumbull County Sheriff Tom Altiere says searchers looked “everywhere.”

Rainn’s mother says Rainn and two siblings had been staying with the great-grandparents because she was moving into an apartment. She says Rainn is “just an innocent little girl.”
