COLUMBUS – Authorities say an elderly Marengo man who was the subject of a Missing Adult Alert when he didn’t come home from work Sunday night was found dead in his car Monday afternoon in a creek in Madison County.

A local landowner discovered a car overturned in a creek at U.S. 42 near the intersection with Lucas Road at 12:39 p.m., about15 hours after David Fee was last seen, according to Lt. Jake Pyles of the Ohio State highway Patrol’s West Jefferson post.
Troopers and other emergency personnel found a 2012 Honda Civic overturned in the creek with Fee, 68, behind the wheel. He was pronounced dead at the scene, Pyles said.
Fee had been reported missing by his family after leaving work near Equity Drive in Hilliard around 9:30 Sunday night and was the subject of an Endangered Missing Adult Alert because of what were described as “serious medical issues,” according to an advisory from the Columbus Division of Police.
Pyles says it appears that Fee drove off U.S. 42 and struck a guardrail, before overturning in the creek. The car was not visible from the roadway due to the depth of the creek bed, he said.
The accident remains under investigation.
