Missing teen found after 2 weeks

BUCYRUS, Ohio – The investigation continues into the disappearance of a 15-year-old Bucyrus girl who was found in Mansfield Monday afternoon after being missing for nearly two weeks.

FBI officials located Rebecca Kemper in an apartment on Main Street in Mansfield shortly after 4:00 p.m. and will be reunited with her mother, according to a statement from the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office.

Kemper had last been seen by her mother at 10:30 p.m. Sept. 23. Her mother called police after discovering the girl’s bedroom window open and her daughter nowhere to be found.

A bloodhound was brought in as part of early search efforts in Crawford and Marion counties but Kemper was not found and the FBI joined the search last week at the request of local law enforcement agencies. Authorities say they analyzed internet and cellphone data and were following up on leads from the weekend that pointed toward Marion and Richland counties.
