COLUMBUS – Prospective law enforcement officers will soon have a new training tool at the state’s training academy in London.
Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine Tuesday will unveil the first phase of an immersive training village on the campus of the Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy in London.
According to DeWine’s office, the village will ultimately include as many as eight buildings with live role players and seven firearm simulators, including a three-screen, 180-degree simulator.
DeWine says the training “village” will “enhance the quality of advanced law enforcement training available to Ohio peace officers by providing multiple neighboring structures where officers can sharpen their skills in a stress-inducing, realistic environment that replicates situations they may encounter while on duty.”
