COLUMBUS – A 30-year-old mother is in jail on a kidnapping charge after allegedly sending the father of her baby a photo of someone pointing a gun at the little girl, then trying to take her to West Virginia.
Fasshon Shivers was taken to the Southeast Ohio Regional Jail Wednesday after Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers caught up with and her 17-month-old daughter in Coolville, Det. Paul Boldin of the Columbus Police Domestic Violence Unit.
She was stopped on the way to a friend’s in Parkersburg, W.Va., Boldin said
The child’s father received a photo texted to his phone at 7:30 Wednesday morning showing someone pointing a gun at his daughter and he alerted police, Boldin said.
Police were in the process of issuing an Amber Alert when troopers spotted Shivers and her daughter and arrested the mother, Boldin said.
The child was taken to Franklin County Children Services.
A search of Shivers’s Fairwood Avenue home revealed a firearm.
