More traffic deaths during longer holiday

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State Highway Patrol says 10 people were killed in 10 separate crashes in the state over the five-day Christmas holiday period last week.

Seven people died in six crashes during the two-day Christmas reporting period in 2013.

The patrol says half of deaths between midnight Christmas Eve and 11:59 p.m. Sunday involved impaired driving.

Five of the people who died were not wearing safety belts.
