Police say Dainesha Stevens, 24, told investigators that she and a male acquaintance could no longer care for him. Authorities say the boy’s six-year-old sister, who Stevens originally reported missing, was found at a home on the city’s west side and is in good condition.

Stevens is in custody charged with child endangerment and evidence tampering. The man, who police aren’t identifying, has been jailed on unrelated warrants.
