Motorcyclist killed at West Side intersection

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Charges are pending in an accident that killed a motorcyclist on the West Side Thursday night.

Columbus police say Mark Coldren, 54, of South Charleston, was riding a 1993 Harley Davidson westbound on Sullivant Avenue just after 7:30 when Halima Ali Waeis, driving a 2009 Toyota Sienna, turned left in front of him from eastbound Sullivant to northbound Wilson Avenue.

Coldren was taken to Mt. Carmel West Hospital where he was pronounced about a half hour after the crash, police said. Waies, 35, was not injured.

This is the 41st traffic fatality of 2014.
