COLUMBUS, Ohio – One block of Mound Street between 4th and 5th Streets will close for two months beginning at 9:00 a.m. Monday as part of the I-70/71 Mound St. connector project.
The $27 million project to build a new bridge and ramp from I-70 west to Mound Street is Scheduled to be complete this fall, according to the Ohio Department of Transportation.
ODOT officials say a block of Mound Street must close so the contractor, Complete General Construction, can reconstruct the roadway.
The posted detour for northbound traffic is Main Street to 5th Street.
The detour for south bound traffic is 5th Street to Fulton to 4th Street.
One lane of 4th Street will also be closed for the same two months between E. Engler Street and E. Noble Street. Four lanes of 4th Street will remain open to traffic.
All lanes of Mound and 4th Streets are scheduled to be open by May 5, ODOT says.
