COLUMBUS, Ohio – Drivers who have been navigating through the Columbus Crossroads project for the last few years will be happy to know that the current phase is almost complete but not before some finishing touches mean some Friday night closures.
The new downtown exit via Mound Street opens Saturday, weather permitting.
Friday
8:00 p.m. – I-70 West reduced to one lane between US 33 and 4th Street. The following entrance ramps to I-70 west will close:
– US 33
– Livingston Ave.
– Alum Creek
– Miller-Kelton
The detour is I-70 east to I-270 north to I-670 west to I-70 west.
The exit ramp from I-70 west to 4th Street will also close permanently at 8:00 p.m.
9:00 p.m. – I-70 West will close completely between US 33 and 4th Street. The detour is I-270 north to I-670 west to I-70 west.
10:00 p.m. – Ramp from I-70 West to I-71 North will close. The detour is I-270 north to I-670 west to I-70 west.
By noon Saturday, the Ohio Department of Transportation expects the new exit to downtown via Mound Street sand the ramps will be open.
