COLUMBUS – The Mud Hens sent 13 hitters to the plate in the 4th inning and scored nine runs while Thad Weber pitched nine innings of shutout baseball to lead Toledo to a 10-0 romp.
Miguel Gonzalez got the big inning rolling as he sent a 2-RBI single to center, then scored on Tyler Collins’ home run to right center field. The Clippers added to their misery after a fielding error from SS Erik Gonzalez which would have been the third out of the inning.
Jeff McVaney, and Anthony Gose each reached base successively for the second time in the inning as Toledo knocked out three RBI hits in a row, two of them doubles.
Weber gave up only four base hits and one walk on his way to the victory.
The two teams wind up their three-game series at 7:05 p.m. Wednesday.
