COLUMBUS – Victor Reyes led the way, hitting two of Toledo’s five home runs as the Mud Hens again picked apart Clippers pitching in an 11-5 victory Tuesday, guaranteeing a series win at Huntington Park.
Reyes hit a three-run homer off Asher Wojciechowski (5-2) in the first inning, when Toledo plated five runs, and added a solo shot in the third on the way to collecting five RBI.
Daz Cameron also hit a first-inning homer and Daniel Pinero and Dustin Peterson added solo shots.
Spenser Watkins (5-1) struck out six hitters and gave up only one run in six innings on the mound as the Clippers managed 13 hits but stranded 15 runners in scoring position.
The two teams conclude the series Wednesday night.
