Mud Hens 11, Clippers 9

COLUMBUS – The Mud Hens outscored the Clippers, 11-9, Sunday, preventing a Columbus sweep of the three-game series at Fifth Third Field.

Toledo jumped out to a 7-0 lead before the Clippers began to rally in the fifth inning, tying up the score in the sixth on a two-run home run by Tim Federowicz and an RBI single from Oscar Mercado.

The Clippers then took a 9-7 lead in the seventh on Bobby Bradley’s two-run double but Nick Goody (0-1) gave up four runs in the bottom of the inning.

Jose Manuel Fernandez (1-0) got the win despite giving up the hit to Bradley and Jose Cisnero pitched the ninth to get the save for the Mud Hens.

Clippers return to Huntington Park Tuesday to kick off a six game home stand.
