COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Clippers dropped both games of a doubleheader to the Toledo Mud Hens at Huntington Park Monday, their fourth and fifth consecutive losses.
The Mud Hens won the opener 2-1 behind Derek Hankins, who held the Clippers to three hits over six innings. Nick Maronde (0-7) took the loss for Columbus.
Toru Murata (3-2) was pulled in favor of Kyle Crockett after giving up the tying run in the top of the sixth inning of the seven-inning nightcap but he was responsible for the two runners who scored on Corey Jones’ single so he took the loss.
The two teams play two more games in Columbus before moving to Toledo for three games.
