COLUMBUS – An East Side man is awaiting extradition back to Columbus from Alabama where he was arrested Wednesday on charges stemming from the death of a man in a double shooting in the Driving Park neighborhood which also left a woman injured.

Agents with the U.S. Marshals Service‘s Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force, in coordination with the Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team arrested Randy Lee Joseph Hunter, Jr., in Birmingham, Ala. On charges of murder and felonious assault.
Hunter, 28, is charged in connection with the shooting death of Lonnie Lambert outside an East Side home on Feb. 22, Columbus Police Homicide Unit detectives said.
Officers responding to a report of a shooting in the 900 block of Lilley Avenue found Lambert, 36, and 49-year-old Nichelle Lillard outside the home suffering from gunshot wounds.
Lambert died later at Grant Medical Center while Lillard was listed in stable condition.
