Officers of the U.S. Marshal’s Service arrested Ian Winkler (right) in Cleveland on Feb. 2 and he was brought back to Columbus to face charges of murder and tampering with evidence in the death of Allan Beatty on Dec. 8, homicide detectives said.

Allan D. Beatty, 50, was found by officers called to check on the well-being of the resident in the home on Hiawatha Street and Winkler, 28, was subsequently charged with tampering with evidence for allegedly removing items from the scene, police said.

The murder charge was added after his arrest.
