Columbus police had been searching for Dennis Juris, 22, of Violet Township, since shortly after 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, when they say he shot and killed his ex-girlfriend’s current boyfriend.

Police found Hector Flores, 27, on the porch of a home in an apartment complex off Tussing Road. They say he had been shot at the girlfriend’s apartment, in the 2700 block of New Jersey Court

Police said Flores ran to a nearby apartment after he was shot. Resident Charles Buggs said he heard a faint knocking at his door and opened it to find Flores on his knees, asking for help. While Buggs called 911, he heard another shot behind him and realized Flores had been shot again and killed.

Police began looking for Juris shortly after the killing and were preparing to search his family’s home on Mamie Drive outside Pickerington this afternoon. His body was found in a barn not far from there, police said.
