Officers were requested to check on the woman who lived at the Allegheny Avenue apartment at about 2:15 Monday afternoon because she had not gone to work and couldn’t be reached by phone, said Homicide Unit Sgt. Stanley Latta.

When officers arrived, Latta says they found the woman dead.

The victim had not been positively identified and official notification to family had not taken place early Tuesday.
