NEW CONCORD, Ohio (AP) – Muskingum University resumed classes Friday after evacuating its campus and residence halls following a bomb threat Thursday afternoon.
According to the university’s website, residence halls were scheduled to reopen at 6:30 a.m. and buildings, classes and programs at 8:00 a.m.
Students, staff and faculty were instructed to leave after the university received an anonymous phone call Thursday afternoon that a bomb was located at the school, university spokeswoman Janice Tucker McCloud said.
The website says roughly 1,700 undergraduate students and 1,400 graduate students attend the school in New Concord, which is about 70 miles east of Columbus.
Most undergraduate students live on campus. It was unclear how many were displaced.
The university postponed its men’s and women’s basketball games Thursday because of the evacuation.
