COLUMBUS, Ohio – Police reportedly had no suspects in an overnight shooting that left an unidentified woman dead and a man recovering in the hospital.
Officers dispatched to the White Castle restaurant at 801 E. 5th Avenue at approximately 1:18 a.m. to check out a reported shooting found Ricky Searcy in front of the location. With a gunshot wound to his lower body, Homicide Unit detectives said.
An unidentified woman, described as black and between 35 and 40 years of age, was found lying just south of a home 1083 Walters Street, less than a block away from where Searcy was found. Investigators said the woman had suffered a gunshot wound to the upper body and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Searcy, 55, was transported to a Grant Medical Center in stable condition.
