NCAA: Braxton’s violation “minor,” no penalty

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Buckeye quarterback Braxton Miller will not be penalized for posting a picture of himself on social media with health care and nutritional products, the university’s Athletic Department announced Thursday.

“The NCAA has determined that Braxton Miller’s Instagram post on March 24, 2015, was deemed to be a promotion of a commercial product. The Ohio State University Dept. of Athletics reported the incident to the NCAA, and the NCAA has reinstated Braxton’s eligibility without any conditions. This was considered a minor violation and the matter is now closed,” said a statement issued by the department Thursday.

The two-time Big Ten offensive player of the yea posted his picture with products from AdvoCare.

Miller is a graduate student who started three seasons but missed all of the Buckeyes’ championship season last year after shoulder surgery. He is expected to play this fall after rehabbing through spring workouts.
