NE Side fire ruled accidental

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Authorities have determined that a three-alarm fire in a Northeast Side apartment complex Tuesday morning started accidentally.

Media reports said that as many as 10 people, including four children, were treated for injuries as a result of the fire, which broke out just before 8:10 a.m. in a three-story apartment building at the Victoria Village Commons apartments in the 4600 block of Tamarack Boulevard, north of Morse Road.

Battalion Chief Tracy Smith says one firefighter was treated for heat exhaustion.

Dozens of displaced residents were helped by the American Red Cross at a shelter set up at St. Elizabeth Church, 6077 Sharon Woods Blvd.
