NEW YORK (AP) — Spencer Dinwiddie made the go-ahead 3-pointer with 43 seconds left while starting for the injured D’Angelo Russell, and the Brooklyn Nets overcame LeBron James’ first triple-double of the season to beat the Cavaliers 112-107.
James had 29 points, 13 assists and 10 rebounds in his 56th triple-double, but he missed two free throws — the second intentionally — with the Cavaliers trailing by two with 7.6 seconds remaining.
Cavas guard Dwyane Wade missed the game with a bruised left knee. Wade came off the bench and scored 11 points in 19 minutes on Tuesday night as the Cavs beat the Chicago Bulls 119-112.
Earlier this week, Wade asked coach Tyronn Lue to take him out of the starting lineup. Wade was effective against the Bulls and led Cleveland’s second unit, which helped the Cavs chip away at an early 14-point deficit.
