CINCINNATI, Ohio – Having beefed up their O line, the Bengals want to get a defensive tackle to pressure the quarterback in this year’s NFL draft, which continues through Saturday in Chicago.

Cincinnati finished last in the league in sacks, and tackle Geno Smith struggled in his first season back from ACL surgery.

They’d also like to add to their depth at receiver.

The team took a bit of a risk with the 21st overall pick in the draft, choosing offensive tackle Cedric Ogbuehi of Texas A&M even though he’s coming off reconstructive knee surgery.

Cincinnati doesn’t need a draft pick to come in and start right away, so they’re looking for players who will add depth for now and grow into a bigger role next year.

Ogbuehi fit the mold. The 6’5″, 305-pound lineman played left tackle and right tackle in college. He has to fully recover from a torn right ACL suffered in the Liberty Bowl.

He could eventually replace Andrew Whitworth at left tackle. Whitworth is entering his 10th season in the NFL.
