WORTHINGTON – A woman was uninjured when her small plane crashed in the backyard of a Worthington home Monday morning.
Christine Mortine, 60, of Worthington was piloting the Cessna 185, which began experiencing engine problems after taking off from OSU Don Scott Airport on W. Case Road for North Bass Island, Sgt. Nathan Dennis of the Ohio State Highway Patrol said.
Mortine attempted to make an emergency landing but crashed in a wooded area behind a house on Ravine Ridge Drive, Dennis said.
No passengers were on board.
The Federal Aviation Administration will be investigating the cause of the crash, Dennis said.
Personnel from Worthington Fire and EMS, and Worthington and Columbus police departments responded to the scene, Dennis said.
