No new illness reports tied to Powell Chipotle

COLUMBUS – Health officials in Delaware say they have received no more confirmed reports of illness from people who ate at a Chipotle Mexican Grill in Powell since the restaurant reopened a week ago.

The Delaware General Health District has identified 624 people who at the restaurant on Sawmill Parkway between July 26 and July 30 and reported gastrointestinal symptoms, spokeswoman Traci Whittaker said.

Laboratory test results on food samples are still pending but results of tests on stool samples sent to the Ohio Department of Health were negative for salmonella, shigella, E.coli and norovirus.

Further testing will be conducted for other pathogens and food samples taken from the restaurant are being tested for those diseases as well as bacillus cereus or clostridium perfringens, Whittaker said.
