COLUMBUS, Ohio – Police looking for the victim of a shooting on the Northeast Side found him on the way to the hospital.
John Howell’s friends found him in an alley near 23rd Avenue and Cleveland Avenue suffering from two gunshot wounds and they were taking him to OSU Medical Center when they were stopped by police, Assault Unit detectives said. Columbus Fire medics took him the rest of the and he was listed in stable condition with non-life threatening injuries.
Police say Howell, 38, was shot twice in the upper body6 as he ran from the front of a home at 1308 E. 23rd Avenue around 2:43 a.m..
At this time there is no motive in the shooting.
