COLUMBUS – No one was injured when Columbus police officers traded gunshots with a suspect inside a Linden home Wednesday morning.

Tactical unit officers were serving a high risk narcotics search warrant at the request of the Hilliard Police Department at a home at 1264 E. 23rd Avenue at 9:57a.m. when one of two suspects inside fired shots at the officers, who immediately returned fire, police division spokeswoman Sgt. Chantay Boxill said.
The suspects were arrested and Jerry Briggs, 27, was taken to police headquarters where he was charged with felonious assault on a police officer, Boxill said.
The other suspect, whose name was not released, is facing criminal charges in Hilliard, Boxill said.
Neither the suspects nor the officers were injured and Boxill says a weapon was recovered at the scene.
