Ohio Tourism Day

COLUMBUS – Ohio’s $43 billion tourism industry, and the state agency that helps promote it, will take center stage Wednesday on the Statehouse lawn as the state does its part to celebrate National Travel and Tourism Week.

Ohio Tourism Day: Ohio Statehouse West Plaza, Wed., May 9; 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

The event features 90 Ohio tourism experiences encompassing history, sports, recreation, food and more.

Visitors can ride a wave runner simulator from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, take virtual trips on a Cedar Point roller coaster or the Hocking Hills zip line.

They can pose for pictures with the Memorial Tournament trophy, President Rutherford B. Hayes and wife, Lucy; Smokey Bear; Heater from the Dayton Dragons.

There will be a Columbus Blue Jackets prize wheel, live music, giveaways, games, food samples and selfie stations.
