Employers shed 8,200 jobs last month, following the release of revised job-growth figures that showed the state added less than 45,000 job in 2018, not the 100,000 originally claimed.

Employment in the state declined from the revised 5.60 million in January to 5.59 million in February, according to data released Friday by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services.

Job losses came in nearly every sector of the state’s economy, especially in construction, manufacturing and services.

The U.S. unemployment rate for February was 3.8 percent, down from 4.0 percent in January.
