COLUMBUS – Patriotic and history-loving Ohioans can enjoy a vintage Independence Day celebration Saturday, courtesy of the Ohio History Connection.
The observance at Ohio Village, on E. 17th Avenue near the Ohio Expositions Center, includes a grand procession, music, dancing and 1860’s-style “base ball” with the Ohio Village Muffins at 12:30 p.m.
The event is scheduled from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Free parking and entry into the Ohio History Center with purchase of general admission ($15/Adults; $13/Senior (60+); $9/Youth 4-12 free)
Visitors have a chance to hear patriotic speeches and hear “candidates” running for office, join in a march to bring the vote to women, test their singing skills in an 1890’s patriotic sing-a-long and enter a pie-eating contest.
