COLUMBUS, Ohio – An Olentangy Local School District elementary school teacher is in the Delaware County Jail, awaiting arraignment on charges of rape.
Matthew Rausenberg, 39, of Columbus was arrested late Monday evening on charges of rape and gross sexual imposition, Delaware County Sheriff Russell Martin said.
Rausenberg was a third-grade teacher at Arrowhead Elementary School, Martin said.
Martin says he notified district superintendent Wade Lucas of the investigation Monday afternoon and Rausenberg was immediately removed from the school building.
Detectives have been interviewing Rausenberg since he was taken into custody, Martin said.
Olentangy Schools will have counselors available for students and families, said Martin.
