Ortiz 9th-inning blast delivers win

INDIANAPOLIS – Guillermo Quiroz crushed his 11th home run of the season, a three run shot to give his team the win in the ninth inning by a final score of 5-2 over International League West Division rival Indianapolis in front of 7,380 fans at Victory Field Tuesday night.

It was the Clippers’ eighth win in a row, their ninth in the last 10 games and leaves Columbus leading the Indians by 13 games in the division standings.

Perci Garner (2-0) picked up the win in relief for the Clippers.

Columbus and Indianapolis will conclude their season series Wednesday afternoon at 1:35 p.m.
