COLUMBUS – What started out as an argument about Ohio State and Michigan erupted into a fight on board the Jet Express ferry on Lake Erie.
When Ashley Artiaga, 25, of Oregon, Ohio, found herself in an argument about the heated rivalry between the two schools with another woman on the boat on the return trip from Put-In Bay to Port Clinton, Artiaga allegedly pulled the hair of the blonde woman sitting in front of her, according to a report in the Sandusky Register.
The victim’s husband then tried to push Artiaga off his wife, but Artiaga’s boyfriend, Ian Schuster, entered the brawl and attacked the victim’s husband.
Both sides threw punches before the fight was broken up, the newspaper reported.
Artiaga and Schuster, 31, also of Oregon, were arrested at the scene and taken back to the police station where they were charged with assault after the incident.
According to the newspaper report, while at the station, Artiaga claimed that the argument got heated after she told two women to stop talking to them. But the woman kept talking.
